"I didn't marry him when I was young. So I didn't elope. I didn't marry for any financial reasons. Many people say that I cheated on someone else and married MG Sreekumar. We are living happily. However, the sorrow is for others. I learned to live with this marriage. I was able to meet a man who loves me. Sreekuttan is a great husband. He is a person who fulfilled all my desires.

He said he wanted to marry me. I said no because I knew the problems that would arise. He had waited for me for a long time. My life was like a movie. We ourselves decided not to have children. How many people in the music industry do not have children? No one asks them. Many people have asked us. I did not feel angry about it. We first met in 1988. That is when I learned that there was a singer named MG Sreekumar.

"Two days after we first met, he gave me a cassette of a song he sang. We met again the next day. That's how we became friends. We fell in love. He is a person who understands me. The first person who understood our love was singer Sujatha. I had also gone to the recording of a song. Sujatha was also there that day.
